Phil Punton is the lead on the Historic and Mythical Imagery group. They create living art through photography, re-creating masterpieces from the art world. The scenes feature local performers, actors, and creatives who meticulously posed to mimic the lighting, costumes, and facial expressions of the original painting.
Phil explains, “This is because we all love original art. For me the reverse engineering of light allows me to work out how to recreate the original image with people who love creating and wearing costumes. Many are actors. We do it for the love of art. No AI is involved!”
