Louise Taylor - "Wombling on" - a talk about her work and her ongoing project.
Louise Taylor - "Wombling on" - a talk about her work and her ongoing project.
Louise Taylor is a socially engaged photographer based in Tow Law, County Durham. Her work often focuses on rural issues, people, and place, and is rooted in a strong connection to the land. She is a founding member of the arts collective Wideyed, a member of The Photobook Club Collective, and is motivated to present her work in unusual ways, often in public spaces, with each opportunity serving as a chance to reimagine it for a new context or audience.
Her current personal project, Wombling: Archiving Dad, is an ongoing body of work that records her father’s objects following his unexpected death. The project acts as a vehicle for experimenting with new approaches to creating and disseminating photobooks. A handmade, limited-edition book object is planned to launch by the end of the year.
