Helen McGhie is a photographic artist and researcher based in Salford and is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sunderland.
Helen is a lens-based artist and researcher exploring photographic encounters with the unseen. Through the still, moving and sonic image, her work explores photographic encounters with people and place, and she is particularly interested in the display of images in non-art contexts.
Currently she is also artist in residence at Kielder Observatory, working with them on her AHRC-funded practice-based PhD project investigating new encounters with dark skies in Northern England.
Her current outdoor exhibition, ‘Another Dimension’ shows some outcomes of her project - currently on show in Kielder Forest.
